Adam Levine's 'testosterone-sculpted face' earned him the title of People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive 2013 award, according to scientists.
Dr Helen Fisher, an anthropologist at Rutgers University who studies love and attraction, told Live Science that the Maroon 5 frontman has 'stereotypically masculine features', including a square jaw, high cheekbones and thin lips, which both men and women are drawn to.
'Look at that jaw, it really juts out on the side,' she observed. 'His brow ridges are such that he could probably stand in the showerand keep his eyes open.'

She said men with masculine faces and higher testosterone levels tend to have a better immune system and stronger sex drives.

Dr Lisa DeBruine, a psychologist at the University of Glasgow's Face Lab in Scotland, who studies the psychology of attractiveness, also deemed the six-foot-tall Mr Levine a perfect specimen, with a mix of 'symmetrical' features that aren't too big or small.

She said some women find such 'manly faces' a turnoff because they conjure up an image of someone less willing to commit to their partners or raise a family.
However, she says 34-year-old Mr Levine counterbalances this by being 'really happy and smiley and not stern.'
'He seems to have it all for being a sexy man.'
New Jersey-based psychic, Linda Lauren, agreed that Mr Levine has a 'great energy' which boosts his attractability.
'He has a lot of deep red in his aura energy that is sprinkled with purple and yellow. This will make him attractive to the eye and it will signal romance at every turn. Red-hot!

Studies have shown that men on the other hand, tend to be more consistent in what they find attractive.
'Some women really like ultra-masculine guys and some women really dislike them,' she said. 'Even the same woman will like different things at different times or different life stages.'

And many women have had bad experiences with 'extremely handsome men', which may make Mr Levine's 'ultra-masculine looks' unattractive to them, Dr Fisher concluded.
Adam Levine was officially crowned People's Sexiest Man Alive on the NBC singing contest The Voice this Tuesday with Carson Daly presenting him with a copy of the magazine on air.
The Moves like Jagger singer said he was surprised, but felt 'sexy' at the same time.
Inside this week's issue of People, the tattooed rocker displays his slim, toned body, which is the result of yoga and spinning sessions. He also discusses his love of nudity and reveals he 'can't wait' to settle down with his fiancée, Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo.
Other gentlemen to make the cut on People Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive list this year were Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Idris Elba, Jimmy Fallon, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Chris Pine, Pharell Williams, Ronan Farrow, Justin Theroux, and David Beckham.

Last year's top pick was actor Channing Tatum, preceded by Bradley Cooper in 2011.

A teacher has been struck off for having sex with a 16-year-old boy after seducing him with photographs of herself in various poses on Facebook. Mother-of-two Clare Horton, 33, posted a series of self-portraits known as ‘selfies’, before her relationship with the pupil became sexual. She showed him pictures of herself in a lacy top and a black dress with a plunging neckline while he was revising for his GCSEs.

The design teacher claimed she had been simply seeking ‘the hand of friendship’ from the teenager as she went through an acrimonious divorce and they did not have sex.

But she was found guilty of misconduct and banned from teaching for two years.
Mrs Horton, who was head of year 11 at the time, sent the teenager messages on Facebook while he was on study leave for his GCSE exams. A disciplinary hearing was told she met the schoolboy for a revision time ‘rendezvous’ before driving him back to her home in Newport, South Wales. The boy, known as Pupil A, later told police he had sex with the teacher but did not want to press charges because of his ‘strict religious beliefs’.

‘Because of what was going on at home, teaching was my only lifeline. To be told I was anything other than ugly, fat, useless and worthless was a safety blanket that I foolishly used. ‘He was very kind and listened. I was just talking about what was going on with my ex-husband. He made me feel better. ‘He slept at my house and so did I. I slept alongside him. We did not have sexual intercourse.’

The teacher, who broke down in tears while giving evidence, added: ‘Within days of the event, I felt I had committed the ultimate sin. I was in such a bad place mentally.
‘The feeling of shame and regret is something I will never be able to get rid of.’ She added that she ‘deserved to be punished’.
Martin Jones, who presented the evidence at the hearing, said Mrs Horton’s behaviour ‘clearly amounted to a significant breach in the professional boundary between her and pupil A’. Panel chairman Helene Mansfield said the teacher’s arguments were ‘unconvincing’. She had displayed ‘a lack of awareness of her responsibilities and abused a position of trust’.

The panel chairman acknowledged that the teenager had been a former pupil at the time of the incident, ‘albeit by a few days’.
The disciplinary hearing ruled that Mrs Horton had engaged in an inappropriate and sexual relationship with the pupil that amounted to misconduct.
She was given an indefinite prohibition order and told she would have to wait two years before reapplying to teach.

Spending hours in the gym to stay slim may be all for nothing if you have the wrong genes, a new study suggests.
Scientists believe as many as nine in 10 obese people are fat because of their genes.
They say the ‘fat gene’ is so powerful that when it mutates it makes mice twice as fat, and diabetic.
By looking at just one family, scientists were able to pinpoint the defective gene – known as CEP19 - that caused them to be obese.
The team from the Icahn School of Medicine in the U.S. found that ‘switching off’ the genein mice caused them to become morbidly obese by making them want to eat more and burn off fewer calories.
They believe the gene plays a vital role in determining appetite and energy levels.
This means that when it is functioning normally it helps people stay lean.
However, when it mutates, it can cause energy levels to plummet and appetite to increase, resulting in obesity.
Geneticist Dr John Martignetti said: ‘Starting with the gene discovery in a single family with morbid obesity, these studies led to the identification of a gene that seems to be fundamental to regulating nutritional status.
‘This gene is shown to be present not only in humans and mice, but also in the simplest known single-cell animal.
‘Nature considers this gene so important that it has preserved its structure for more than 700 million years.’

Last month he bought a $160,000 Ferrari the day before a Los Angeles jury decided that concert promoter AEG Live was not responsible for the 2009 death of his pop superstar brother Michael from acute propofol intoxication.

We celebrate Halloween in Nigeria too

Today is Halloween right? I was listening to a radio show sometimes back and they were taking a poll. The question was if you'll receive tribal marks for three million dollars and almost everybody said they would gladly accept the tribal marks. Some however said not for all the money in the world. That got me thinking about how stupid our fore fathers a.k.a the orangutans that brought us to this world could be. The African mind. Very dumb. How would you think that the best way to recognise yourselves and your tribe was to perpetually destroy God's creations with twelve to fifteen or eighteen thick satanic marks on your face. What happened to a tattoo on your arm or a distinctive hairstyle or something. The only thing they could think of was mortgaging /destroying a persons face and permanently ending a persons chance of ever entering heaven. God can't allow faces like these to be in his Kingdom cos he is a God of perfection and beauty not........he can't allow you to put on a Halloween mask in his Kingdom. And the mask is now permanent again. I pray you enter o.
Some were reasonable to give just two little barely visible marks on each cheek, but some said no, that every single single space of your face must be designed to scare the hell out of anybody from the developed world. And to think some people carry it with pride. Of all the things I'm thankful for this one takes the icing on the cake. That I was not born when this horrible and senseless act was committed.
Some of you like to deceive yourselves and say it's something of pride, that it's our culture and tradition, and we should embrace it. I even saw an article about tribal marks that was titled "Tribal marks: Our continents fading glory".
Tufiakwa. Glory love, pride ni. Let's say the truth, tribal marks is not a thing of pride and is a useless part of our culture. If you are somewhere in this world with a face having twelve to fifteen long, thick and demonic marks on your face that has given you the nickname "you fight lion", I'm sure you'll not be praying for your parents that allowed your face to be mutilated. Anyway it is I just want to say happy Halloween.

The 31-year-old from Grays, Essex - who claims her unhappy marriage transformed her from a contented size 12 into a frumpy size 20 - embraced life as a single girl, losing seven stone in just one year... and dropping to a slender size six.Taryn was a size 10 when she met her market trader husband - who does not wish to be named - in a nightclub at the age of 23, and in true whirlwind romance style the couple moved in together just weeks later and married the following year in 2006. Taryn walked down the aisle in a size 12 dress weighing 9 stone, but after settling into married life her figure dramatically changed. At first I just didn't understand why. I hadn't had any children and I didn't have any major issues with food. But it was when I sat and thought about how much my life had changed that I realised why I was fat. It became my comfort - my way to get through the boredom.'As the cracks in her marriage grew, Taryn turned to food even more. She regularly treated herself to family-sized pizzas and garlic bread to forget about her unhappiness.After just a few weeks of single life, Taryn was surprised to notice her clothes getting looser.

She says: 'It was crazy. I'd not gone back to the slimming club or gym since leaving my husband but for the first time in years, I was actually losing weight.' When people started noticing her weight loss, Taryn would say it was because she had gone from being married to single. 'It was true,' she says. 'I could see no other explanation.' Taryn soon started divorce proceedings and the weight continued to fall off with no effort at all. In less than 12 months, she had managed to lose 7st and gone from a size 20 to a size six. 'Being a wife made me fat - but being single made me sexy again.
